Change of Address Scams

In 2021, the U.S. Postal Service processed 36 million address changes for customers. Changing your address is free in-person at your local post office. When a change of address is submitted on USPS.com, the Postal Service charges $1.10 for an identity validation fee. But Postal Inspectors are finding that some postal customers paid more for a change of address on other websites. These sites can charge up to $40 to change the address and, in some cases, the changes never get made.
