Remembering our fallen.
The Postal Inspection Service wishes to commemorate the Postal Inspectors and Postal Police Officers who have died in the line of duty. Their names have been etched on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial wall and applied to a wall of honor in the National Postal Museum, both located in Washington, DC.

Preston B. Parnell

Postal Inspector Parnell died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile crash on January 25, 2007, while working on an investigation in conjunction with the FBI.
Robert F. Jones, Jr.

Postal Inspector Jones was killed in an automobile crash while attending the National Postal Training Center.
Terrance M. Asbury

Postal Inspector Asbury died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile crash on January 30, 1990, after conducting an investigation.
Michael J. Healy

Postal Police Officer Healy was shot during a robbery attempt at the main post office in downtown Chicago, Illinois.
Benedetto M. Spizzirri

Investigative Aide Spizzirri was shot handling a prisoner who pulled a hidden weapon.
John P. McAuliffe

Investigative Aide McAuliffe was shot handling a prisoner who pulled a hidden weapon.
Bruce O. Shaffer

Post Office Inspector Shaffer was killed in an automobile accident while engaged in official business.
Ernest M. Harkins

Post Office Inspector Ton was killed in an airplane crash while transporting two prisoners.

Special Agent Davis was killed in a stagecoach attack. He is the first Special Agent of the Postal Inspection Service to die in the line of duty.
