Suspect Arrested for Mail Theft and Burglary in Connection with Relay Box Theft

Brooklyn, NY – On March 28, 2025, the United States Postal Inspection Service and New York Police Department arrested Ebrahima Bah, 20, in connection with the theft of multiple relay mail bags in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY.

A witness video previously surfaced on social media showing Bah exit a white Alfa Romeo vehicle and then access a United States Postal Service relay box on the corner of Kingston Ave. and Carroll St. using stolen postal keys. Bah then removed multiple bags of mail and placed them inside a vehicle. Bah and the driver then sped off. Bah was arrested for mail theft and charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.

“With the public’s help, New York Division postal inspectors were able to send a firm message to others that crimes against the U.S. Mail will never be tolerated,” said Postal Inspection Service Acting Inspector in Charge Ed Gallashaw. “We also thank the NYPD in our continued mission to stop mail theft and related financial crimes that endanger our nation’s mail system and our communities.”

Postal inspectors continue to investigate this case.

It is important to note that criminal charges are only allegations against a person. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
