This scam typically occurs when a person receives a phone call - OR, a pop-up message on their computer screen -

from someone claiming to be with tech support who says your computer has been infected with a virus.

But clicking on a link the so-called tech support person provides will give the scammer full access to your computer.

And then, he'll charge you for the "repair" you never needed in the first place. Don't fall for it!
