But you NEVER have to pay to play. That's a scam. And there's a new sweepstakes scam to watch out for. Someone calls or writes to you saying you've won a cash prize in a sweepstakes-which, by the way, you never even entered. The cash is on its way to you in a metal briefcase, secured with a combination lock. Here's the twist: you have to send money to get the combination. And you have to do it quickly because the sender tells you the briefcase will self-destruct in a short period of time - and there with it, your winnings. So you send in the money and get the combination. Excitedly, you open the briefcase and... Remember: You don’t have to pay to enter a sweepstakes or collect a prize.
