Greenbelt, Maryland – Following an investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Hyattsville (MD) Police Department, a Washington, D.C. resident was indicted on Friday, August 14, 2020 in the District of Maryland with one count of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. The defendant, Julian Bernard-Alexander Blair, allegedly possessed marijuana which he intended to distribute in Hyattsville, Maryland. In September 2019, Blair allegedly discharged a firearm in broad-daylight while attempting to sell marijuana near student housing for two nearby universities. Law enforcement seized two handguns from Blair following that incident, and later executed a search warrant at Blair’s residence which yielded multiple handguns, rifles and additional evidence of narcotics trafficking.
