Acting U.S. Attorney William T. Stetzer announced today that Joseph Maurice Deberry, a/k/a Joseph Maurice Dewberry, 57, of Charlotte, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Max O. Cogburn Jr. to serve 57 months in prison for orchestrating an investment scheme that defrauded victims of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Deberry was also ordered to serve three years under court supervision and to pay full restitution to his victims.
