Los Angeles, CA: The indictment alleges the eight defendants participated in a three-year conspiracy to defraud California’s unemployment insurance program by creating fake companies and fraudulently filing for unemployment insurance benefits under the names of three of the defendants and others, including prison inmates. Postal Inspectors worked alongside the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Inspector General; the California EDD Investigation Division, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
