A West Monroe, LA, inmate, in jail on local child molesting charges, was sentenced to 10 years’ federal prison after being found guilty last fall of trying to have his ex-wife killed. He mailed a letter to a purported hitman in 2019 offering $10,000 for the murder, along with detailed instructions on where and how to perform the killing. The recipient of the letter took it to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. The inmate is still awaiting trial on the state child rape and molestation charges.
