A federal judge has sentenced a Romeoville man to more than four years in prison for stealing his elderly mother-in-law's identity to misappropriate more than $175,000 from her. John V. Knapp, 66, pleaded guilty last year to one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.
