A former lobbyist from Greer pleaded guilty Thursday to making a false statement to U.S. Postal Inspectors during a federal investigation into a fraud scheme. Inspectors were investigating a five-year, multi-million dollar, high-yield investment fraud scheme involving Niyato Industries Inc., said Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski of the Justice Department's Criminal Division.
